Hey Mosman1 - I've been to Egypt 7 times, always in early January. On my last trip, one of my CF cards was corrupted in Aswan, and there was no place there I could find to buy one. I finally bought a 256 mb card on the Nile boat gift shop, because that was all that was available and I hoped I wouldn't need it. . Didn't try in Luxor. So is there a good camera store in Cairo ?

at -29 my 4 wheels arent going anywhere. supposed to be +2 by the weekend. That's Saskatchewan for you.

Here in New Hampshire the moment it is 11F or (-12C) for you metric types. With a wind chill that will take your breath away . Much nicer than -49C windchill, Brrrrrrr

East Texas 31 F this morning and 56 F this afternoon. We go from low 40's F in the morning to low 70's F in the afternoon in the winter. This alternates to mornings below freezing and afternoon mid 50's F on other days. Our winter weather changes about twice a week with strong cold fronts alternating with wonderful warm sunny days.
Our summers are beastly HOT ! with no relief re: temps and seldom rain.

CF cards , lense hoods, filters and much more accesories are really hard to find here in Egypt, and if you find them they will be double if not triple the price in the u.s. i buy my stuff if a friend is coming or going to the u.s or when i travel. but i know this kodak shop owner and he gets me the stuff i need but at a high price so i usually avoid him. I was looking for a CF for my 50D and wanted something like the lexar 4gb udma or the sandisk extreme IV and been looking for like 10 days and all what i found where the ultra II 4gb at a price equivilant to 70$!!!! so i called the guy that i know and he told me that it is impossible to find the extreme IV in egypt and he got me the extreme III 8gb for 60$, so get enough with you.. don't depend on shops here even radioshack and virgin don't sell them anymore here.. if you need anything if you are planing to come just mail me.
