Hi,

Your redesign of the webpage doesn't work. All links are refering to my C: drive. ;)
HI D,

I re-made the web page showing the EXIF info.
It's the same link, but now it's much faster. (smaller files)

http://members.xoom.com/_XMCM/coolgabi/index.htm

The images that you wanted to see the original were not modified at all.
The images: 3322, 3111, 3181, 3330 were not modified and came straight
from the camera.
Take in consideration that you chose pictures taken using a external
Flash (Nikon SB-22s).
I hope that helps.

It works for me now =)

Hey Fred, so did you make that bracket yourself? I was trying to figure out if it was a Nikon bracket bent up. The picture you posted was a mirror image. I guess you took a picture of it in a mirror =)

I'm trying to find a bracket or make one that holds the flash way up high above the lense. trying not to make the flash glare back into the lense as much.

btw, those pictures are really nice! realistic, great color, sharp

How did you make that thumbnail page? What program did you use? Is it free? I like the way it works.

Jim,

I took the opportunity to see if even slight "underexposed" pictures could be fixed with software. Here are your pictures with a little fixing.

I hope you enjoy.

I've just shipped an Epson PhotoPC 3000z back to the vendor yesterday,
because I was VERY UNHAPPY with the quality of my photos. The Epson was
my first Digital Camera, and I'm used to taking photos with a Nikon
N4004s 35mm, which does a great job.

Since the Epson did not live up to my expectations, after reviewing
alternatives, the Nikon 990 is now at the top of my list of prospects.

Please read this forum post, with my comments on exposure/focus with
similiar subject shots against a water background, and let us know what
you think (reply to the below forum post on the Epson forum, if it's not
too much trouble), with your responses to the issues of locking in focus
before reframing, and software correction of exposure.... Thanks in
advance! Your photos are terrific!

We went to Catalina Island for Father's day weekend.
Here is the link for some of the trip's shots:
All shots were shot in Full basic mode using a CP990

You are not going to see red-eyd outdoors. The light is bright and the subject's pupils have contracted. Red-eye is only a problem indoors in very low light situations. I haven't seen it on fill-flash.

Anthony has posted pictures on this forum demonstrating the problem. I have had similar pictures with indoor pictures. I've seen postings of pictures taken of full body shots claiming no red-eye. If the picture was taken indoors and the light level was low, it will be there. Zooming in on the eyes will reveal it.

Many options have been discussed to address the red-eye so I won't rehash them. But don't let the lack of red-eye on outdoor photos convince you that it won't happen.

I used Photoshop 5.5 Web Gallery batch feature... (3 minutes and you're done)

Fred,

I would say that mother (who looks like a model) and daughter (who looks like an angel - see 3181) have a heck of a photographer for a husband and father. Wonderful series of shots. I was impressed with - apparently - how few throwaways you had, based on the number sequencing. A wonderful array of images. Very nice work! The 990 is a keeper, isn't it?

Fred,

Which bracket are you using with your SB-22s (in your picture)?

Thanks,
Ira

I wanted to take some pictures of the Old Casino in the city. They came
out nice but unfortunately I could not add to the rest of the web
pictures.
I have family in Brazil and New York that could not wait to see the
pictures from Gabrielle, my daughter.
FRED
Beautiful pictures. Where's the well chronicled red-eye problem? Did you
remove it with software?

Ira

I first started with a very small size drill to make the tiny hole. Then I used 1/4 size drill (standard for tripods) to make the final hole. Don’t forget that you still have to buy a 1/4 screw.
With a little bending, your flash will go on top of the lens beautifully…

FRED
Thanks,
Ira
