I vote for Fled...

Fled has been a problem for the forum for some time . He is not
here for the photography . I won't go in to details for those who
seem confused , but Bob S and some other well respected members
surely know the "story" behind Fled . His "quip" in my thread was not
necessary . Fled is also not here for the humor. His defense may be
that it was a "joke" , but that's not the case. Actually , most of what
Fled does in the forum will never be understood by anyone , as
evidenced by his replys here. He has only recently been awakened
from a rather long nap here. Too bad for us. I honestly thought he
had been banned some time ago.

I will deregard any negative comments toward me until everyone
becomes "enlightened" . LOL

So , my "quip" , was again just an opinion. I don't need a nap ,
I'm not angry , I am going to take some photos today . Would
anyone care to join me !

LOL... people, puh-leez... I don't know of a single person that has read the "we Todd did" text and didn't chuckle (in private)... unfortunately, our sosciety is way too PC these days, so we are forced to condem such humor in public. Lighten up!

BTW... I like your use of "Fledhole" as a synonym for "donkeyhole" (note my on PC word use - and my sincere aplogy to all donkeys reading this forum).

It may have been an attempt at wry humor, but Fled's subsequent
posts have been less ambigous. especially the post including the
malicious and repugnant "re Todd did". I now join 3DTim is the
annointing of Fledhole.

I'm with yah on that. I see the makings of a classic "flame war" brewing.

1. "Joke" taken the wrong way....
2. Poster gets flamed by someone who misunderstood.
3. Poster clarifies intent, but is now agitated by being publicly flamed.
4. Poster flames back in "self defense".
5. Forum gets sidetracked for a day or so until the thread reaches the limit.

Think I'm going to miss most of this. Heading out now, and later may try to meet up with the dcphotogs folks for the night-shoot on the mall this evening.

It was a joke (does anyone seriously believe that I really think Ergo's IQ is 60?). Unfortunately, 3DTIM (and others) are wound just a little too tightly, and are always looking to vent their frustration from a failed life on any available easy target (ie: me).

here to say that my take on this was the right one, and that you
would go on to say that it was, in fact, intended as a
light-hearted joke.

Perhaps that's what you meant?
It seemed that was where you were going, there for just a second,
but then you seemed to toss a little more fuel on the fire with the
last remark, so again, I'm lost.
It is so very difficult in this text-driven world to fill-in the
missing data that would be provided by tone,inflection and body
language in an actual conversation. Sometimes its helpful to
include smileys or whatever to make sure the reader gets an idea of
the context.
In this case, I don't know, but I was solidly in your corner till
round two. Now I'll just wait for the bell...

Your posting about Ergo turning 60 was somewhat ambiguous. Someone not knowing the "Ergo history" could have read that as Ergo turning 60 and being dried up - as in a dried up old man. I believe FLED meant the comment in the same light hearted manner in which your comment appeared to be.

Give the guy the benefit of doubt and give him a break!

Yep, 3d has got it right. Fled dropped off for a couple months and it was really nice having him gone... he came back not long ago and has been up to his old fledisms.

He's certainly got as many votes as I'm allowed to give.

I hope that Tim, Juli and others, who read my original post to this thread have since read my follow-ups!

All this is serving to point out how flawed is my memory; I've certainly been here long enough (since 12/01) to have seen the past interactions with FledHole, and my memory tried to tell me something familiar was afoot, but I just didn't get it clarified until FledHole responded to this thread. at that point it became glaringly obvious that he was only trying to flame.
(maybe he'll just go away, again?)

The reason I ask is because from reading the remark about I.Q., I
didn't get the visceral reaction that others did, in fact it sounds
a lot like many of the quips, jabs and joking remarks that are
regularly exchanged on this forum, especially between tim, ergo, KK
and others.

Agreed but.....

Fled isn't one of the 'Clique' here so I guess that it was interpreted as an insult just as if I'd said it or someone else not in the "gang"..
