Hugh,

Beautiful shot. This is an image that overwhelms you with
"peacefullness".

Thanks for sharing. Actually Iwould vote for this shot to win an
award. It is framed perfectly top to bottom.

Good evening,

This time of the morning is usually quiet and calm, particularly in the places that work for taking pictures. I try to capture a bit of that feeling. I'm very pleased you feel I am having some success. I appreciate you taking the time to comment and the compliments.

The sharing is my pleasure.

Hi Hugh. This is a beautiful photo! I like that there is so much
more to it than the typical sunset photo. The ducks and the
ripples are a nice addition.

Morris
Hello Morris,

I try to get past the "colored clouds". Thank you for the feedback. I'm pleased to know I am having some success.

Hi Hugh,

Another beauty. What a wonderfull area. I like the arrow in this
one with the a bit moved reflection. How long are exposures mostly
at this time of the day ?

With kind regards,

Dirk Vermeirre
Hello Dirk,

Thank you for commenting. I usually start taking pictures when it is dark enough to need the full 30 second exposure. As the sun comes up, of course, the exposure times decrease. I sometimes use a 4x ND filter to increase the exposure times. This one was only 1/20 at f/16.

I appreciate you compliments.

Amazing colours here Hugh. This one gives a very warm feeling. I
also like what you did with the for ground.

Ruud
Hello Ruud,

I am always amazed at the range and intensity of colors as the sun comes up. Capturing them is one of the things I am working to get better at. Thank you for the feedback that I'm having some success.

Hello Martin,

As always, I appreciate your comment and compliments. The sign marks this area as a "Slow Speed" area, and marks the channel.

Thank you,

Hugh

You're starting to make me feel guilty lying in bed at the weekend
when I could be off down to Narrabeen Lake (about 15ks away) and
taking dawn snaps.

Sheila
Hello Sheila,

It will be worth the trip. And, remember, if you get up early, and take good pictures, you earn an afternoon nap :-).

Beautiful, serene and quiet early moment
Interesting composition with off center symmetrical sun and post

Great shot
