Need a marco lens can take any cool close up shots or A40. Do you have one?

Hi,

I own an A20 and have just bought the Canon 250D macro lens for it and have been very pleased with the results. I haven't got used to getting my focus spot on yet, but I'm getting better and intend to post the good shots I have so far as soon as I have time to process them.

I was a bit worried after ordering it that I'd just paid far too much for a not very strong lens, but I was very pleasantly surprised when it turned up in the post.

The 250D is clearly (no pun intended) a very nice peice of glasswear and so far I've spotted no distortions (colour, or image) of any kind - colours and detail are far above what I was expecting.

I'm not an expert by any means, but given the chance to buy another macro lens I'd go for the 250D again without hesitation.

I thought long and hard about the cheaper options, but in the end I decided I'd rather pay a little extra and be assured that I was getting something which (I hoped) wouldn't dissapoint me.

Oh dear, I sound like a Canon salesman. {:)

Seriously though, I'm a very happy bunny.

ps. I have the Canon LA-DC52 lens adaptor, I think you'll need the LA-DC52B version for the A40. Not sure if there are any third-party alternatives, as the Canon one is appalingly expensive for what it is.

pps. Oh, also, remember that any lens attachment on the A10/20/30/40 will block the flash quite severely - I've taken to using a tripod and leaving the flash off when there is not enough light.

ppps. It comes in a nice plastic protective case as well - which can get knocked around in my camera bag without worrying about damaging the lens.
I just got my A40 few days ago and am looking for a marco lens can
take cool close up pictures, also, I need a adapter too. Any
comments?

Oh one more thing. Please post some of your close up shots if you have. I really want to to see how the lens goes. Thanks again!

Hi,

Here are a couple of quick samples.

Please remember that these are only the tenth or so shots I've taken with this lens and that the only post processing done on them is a little unsharp mask on the two resized images.

I hope to get better with the fucusing as time progresses also. {:)

Hope these help.

Sorry - you don't - I just cropped them in PaintShop Pro and uploaded them to pbase as seperate images. However, I've just uploaded the fullsized image to pbase which you should be able to see below:

It's around 700K, so it may take a while. {:)

ps. This image is straight off of the camera, with no post processing.

Cool. Can you tell me what is the magnification factor of this 250D compared to the best close-up with the base A20? Thanks.
