your steps to adjusting digital photos

I am new to photoshop so any advice would be great.

What steps do you take to adjust color and or output of the digital photograth that seems to work for you. I dont neccessarily mean adjusting the size but more like the color, brightmess, and clarity.

(1) Adjust brightness. This is best done using Curves; but it's easier to get started by using Levels.

(2) Adjust Hue & Saturation.

(3) When all other editing has been done, use Unsharp Masking.
