The fact that K10D doesn't write frame count into EXIF doesn't mean it doesn't keep frame count in it's flash memory. Service people can easy check that number (probably through debug menu).I've been in email contact with Jens Duttke, the author, and he has
pointed out to me that MakerNote 0x0029 FrameCount is no where to be
seen in any firmware version of the K10D. This does not mean that
Pentax is not storing it somewhere in the PEF just that it is not
documented. I can't believe the service group would not want to know
the frame count on a camera they service. Maybe not. ;-)
I checked my raw files and those with fw1.xx had Frame Count which has disappeared since fw2.00.That's odd...different firmware perhaps?
I doubt it's a problem with PhotoME. Given that the boards appear to be used concurrently I would assume that the version difference would pertain to a minor revision to perhaps accommodate updated/unavailable parts? Also as has been mentioned WRT lenses the concept of a SERIAL number seems to have been lots, it's probably more appropriate to call them unique ID numbers as there is nothing serial about them.Seems strange that it is a lower revision than Rob's but was
manufactured 4 months later... my internal serial number is 4126003
Perhaps they have two different production lines or PhotoME isn't
interpreting this correctly.
