Phil Askey! You Work for Camera Companies !?!

Ok you made your point. Now here is what you need to do. E-mail Phil with your complaint. Phil will put himself on the super secret people to be watched list and if he ever does this again he will ban himself.
PS. Phil should have qualified his forum response to me as possibly
' witty' directly to me and not as "Aww, and I thought it was
fairly witty..." to another poster, Peter Cokerell! PPS. Phil Askey
also wrote "suggest you check the calibration of your monitor" !

What would happen if it turned out that once in a while, people made tongue-in-cheek remarks, or even slightly smart-alecky remarks -- but not outright nasty ones -- and if it were also to turn out that there's nothing you could do about it...further, that you'd never get an apology (because none was called for).

What then?

Under such circumstances, a person might have little recourse other than to engage in that sometimes-rewarding activity known as Getting Over It. (It's an acquired taste.:-)

Your logic is flawed.

If you were accused of being employed by Sharp, Sony, Matsushita for criticising the Foveon colour [which you were not], you cannot therefore imply that Phil thinks Sharp, Sony, Matsushita colour is inaccurate.

Phil was questioning YOUR assumptions, which were very vocal and based on insufficient data, not the quality of their competitors products.
Rick,
Thanks.
Serious implication for me is that he not only questioned my
perception, understanding and questioning for perceived innacurate
color for all Foveon images posted to date but implied that I work
for Sharp, Sony, Matsushita and other manufacturers (?with inferior
technologies with inaccurate color imaging as some of the posters
have suggested) and only these companies have the temerity to
question Foveon image color as inaccurate for the present! This
surely appears as PHIL ASKEY'S BIAS (witty tongue-in-cheek or
foot-in-mouth) against SONY and others, if not against myself, a
DPR forum member like all the rest of us!
I am hurt.

Jung Lee

Keith,

We English are a bit strange. Internet communication is difficult, since you can't see the smile on someone's face when they're talking to you...

Here's a tip - imagine a smiley on the end of each line of Phil's comments.

That way you might appriciate English irony a whole lot better!
I for one prefer his reviews (generally speaking) to his comments
on the forum !

I don't think he questioned your integrity and it's a no-win battle
for you my friend. This is "his" place and he's got zillions of
people ready to go to war for him.

Worse things can happen.
Phil, are you biased, selective in your subjects and assessements?
BTW, You don't work for Sharp, Sony, XXX or who ever pays you!
How dare you accuse me to work for sharp, Sony, Matshushita?
Your reply is not by chance and definately not witty!
I am truly saddened by your careless insensitivity!
Please retact your accusation forth with!

All DPR Forum members are waiting your reply ASAP!

Sincerely,
Jung Lee
Aww, and I thought it was fairly witty...

You don't work for Sharp, Sony or Matsushita by any chance?

Whats all the fuss about - Phils a great guy,-- he did'nt mean any offense. If you don't like his remarks got to another review site. Please!

Phil's comments can have teeth at times, but then he is
the webmaster here. Whether or anyone likes his comments
or not, really is not an issue to be questioned, as we are in
his house here. On this issue tho, I was in complete agreement.
I was wondering what your profit margin was in all of the
continuing complaints about something most of us don't see.
I figured you for a shill from your comments, not Phil's question.
Maybe he did too.
Jung Lee, if any apology is owed, it is you, who owe it.

Phil just made a joking comment.

You misunderstood it, and blew it up into a personal war.

Grow up. Get a sense of humor. And learn to give others the
benefit of the doubt.

This DPR Forum member isn't waiting for Phil's reply!! Was this subject really worthy a second post? Your comments are childish and who cares besides you and a FEW others. I know that time=money, but you will just have to WAIT until some meaningful tests and reviews are done! Jeez, get over it or go buy another camera!

Well you certainly livened up the group!

I still love my old Sony Mavica FD88 1.3mp with 8x zoom. I wish they had one 3mp with Cf storage (or SM for that matter). I haven't tried sharp or matushita.

Oh dear, me thinks you take my joke to seriously.

Oh purleeeeeez, I have better working relationships with all of these companies than you can imagine. I talk to everyone about all competing technologies and everybody understands the state of the market.

Thanks.

Jung Lee, if any apology is owed, it is you, who owe it.
Apology for what!
Phil just made a joking comment.
This is no joke to any one's integrity:
You don't work for Sharp, Sony or Matsushita by any chance?
Further phil Askey said:
Erm.. Not sure what you're talking about because I've got lots of
human samples and all are fine. I suggest you check the calibration
of your monitor.
Phil Askey should check his and others Foveon X3 images and civily disagree with thread proposition with or without reasons for the present and not to check calibration of posters' monitors or eyesights!

how would you feel if Phil challanged you by replying
"You Work for Camera Companies !?!
you would consider it a joke, witty, sense of humour and forget about it?
You misunderstood it, and blew it up into a personal war.
I clearly understand all implications of Phil Askey's positions!
What do you expect me to do? Not post a reply?
Grow up. Get a sense of humor.
There is no sense of humor for your 'grow up' patronizing!
And learn to give others the benefit of the doubt.
While none of has any benefit of doubt for reasoned civilized posts?

Dear Mr. Phil Askey,

I can consider your reply as a joke or wit or sense of humour and would consider this matter and thread closed, if you could confirm that my or other similar DPR forum members' integrity, civility or courteous nature of posting with reason were not under question as perceived, however misunderstood!

Sincerely,
Jung Lee

PS. I still await with all patience for your responses to Foveon X3 yellow cast to skin color and white snow color connundrum noted on X3 images!

Never thought "suggest you check the calibration of your monitor" is an insult.

And by the way ... Who do you work for Mr. Lee?
