G2 Flash Modes

I have had my Canon G2 for a week. The User Guide says there are 5 flash modes:

red-eye reduction, auto -- eye icon
auto -- lightning icon with an accompanying "A"
red-eye recution, flash on -- lightning icon with eye icon
flash on -- lightning icon

flash off -- lightning icon surrounded by the universal circle-with-diagonal-line "no" symbol

When I push the flash button, I only cycle through three options:
eye icon
blank (no icon at all)
flash off icon

Am I doing something wrong?

If you are in AUTO mode, I think you only have three options. You need to switch to P mode to get the others.

Let me know if that works.

Switch from AUTO mode to P or Tv or Av or Manual mode.
You will find the other modes.

I understand, thanks. Looks like you can even have fill flash in P mode. I think I'm really going to like this camera.
