I am a newbie to digital cameras. Just got mine about a week ago. I was wondering where do I go to get photo quality prints made from my digital photos. Sure I can print on photo quality paper and get a so so image, but if I want to have a nice photo to frame or whatever, how do I get a print made? Thanks in advance for the help.

I haven't tried any yet myself, but there's a long review of different available services at:

Try Ofoto on Phil's home page.

After a number of sources tested this idea, Ofoto seems to be the head and shoulders winner of the tests. My own experience with them is that they have it down cold. From the subtle yet transparent shadows to the full extremes of specular whites the images are not detectable as digital images. They give you a bunch of freebies to try before you get hooked and you will get hooked when you see how well your digital camera can look on photo paper.

First of all you CAN have great quality prints made form your home photo printer if you have the right printer, paper, software and patience

to make them. Epson's new photo printers with "archival" inks and their premium glossy photo paper would be a great starting point. However, if you

prefer to drop your media card at a lab and let someone else do the work I do not blame you a bit. Many traditional photo labs are beginning to install

printing equipment that will work from digital files and output directly to photographic paper at a cost comparable to film based prints. Very cool.

Ask around and see if any labs in your area are currently using Fuji Frontier equipment. This seems to be a popular system that several labs
in my area now have. The results are spectacular.

Best of luck!
