Whilst I appreciate this site and the forums within it are principally an area for ,On the whole men to argue why their choice of camera is without a doubt not only the best choice for them but should be the best choice for everyone. I think that for a large part the dividing line in photography is between those who wish to create images and those that want to buy, brag about and beat to death the technical merits of equipment the more expensive the better of course!.
Anyone with an unbiased viewpoint would have to say that any of the current crop of DSLR, s are all capable of delivering excellent images and the eye of the photographer is of far more significance in the resulting effect of the image. I could care less what camera or lens, aperture or shutter speed the photographer used the results are what counts, I have seen some truly vitriolic and abusive arguments on several of the forums about stuff so daft it beggars belief. No one would ever look at the work of a painter and say if only he had used x brand of brush or perhaps different set of paints you would be laughed at.
I own a Nikon d2x, a D200 and a Canon 1ds, with a number of lenses which I use for both my work and for my pleasure and I can state by use that both systems are more than capable of doing the job. I have no doubt that the other DSLR on the market can deliver the goods when in the right hands so why don’t we just declare a truce and we may all benefit from the advice and vision of the many great photographers on all these forums
Digital photography is a fantastic tool with the ability to try your hand at any photographic technique without the costs associated with film I have wasted dozens of rolls of film trying out new techniques over the years , is it not possible to enjoy using our skills without having to resort to trading insults,
Cheers
