I do not think that it is much bigger:This is absolutely wonderful news. Those of you complaining of size
may be over-reacting a bit here. Looking at some photographs it is
bigger alright but not by that much, especially visible in the shot
of the guy holding it in his hand, assuming he has average size
hands....
--The E1 mockup had a all-in-one body with intergrated grip BUT thei love it. and i like especially the non-integrated battery grip
which i don´t need.
final design is as we know it.
So things change.
The mockup is the actually about the same height and width as an E-1.I can't believe that they came up with a BIGGER camera than an E-1
plus power grip.
Compare it to a Nikon D80, or even a D200 and it seems to be
bigger, despite their larger sensors.
of course it had to be a bit bigger! Because that is what it is, a
BIT bigger. It is absolutely not HUGE. To get some of the things in
a new Oly camera I don't mind at all that it is bigger than the E-1.
To me it looks like Batman's camera. While I can pretty much account for most buttons the missing focus switch and mode dial, I have no idea about:I think it looks very well thought out. The placement of buttons,
even the two to the extreme right (rear) which is cut smooth to the
surface, gives the impression of a design that is mature and close
to final. I love it! Looks like darth vadars cam.
They couldn't fit the LV hump in the E1 prism hump! The E1 ends with a hotshoe and then there's a vertical incline and a viewfinder.. so there's no space.Everyone raves over the ergonomics of the E-1, why does Olympus
need to change the body for the sucessor?
Couldn't they keep the body and just update the components?
Wouldn't that save money in R&D?
