Stunning! I especially love the backlit ones with flash, superb work Dan! How did you do that? That third last shot looks like it was lit off-centre
Here's some more photos of my latest wedding I shot. D50+Sigma
18-50mm 2.8 an one SB600, hope you enjoy.

Nice work. And encouraging given that you didn't use fancy equipment.

The reason I'm encouraged is that a friend hired me to shoot her family reunion in November. I told her I'm not a professional, but she seems to think that's OK and wants me to shoot this anyway, knowing that it may lack some of the pro touch. She's convinced I'm going to do fine. As with everything else, I'll shoot a zillion pics, in the hope of getting at least a few really good shots.

BTW, what is a usual charge for a photo shoot such as this? I just have no idea. I'm not going to charge that, as she is willing to pay me $200, plus whatever prints would cost. I suspect she's getting a major bargain. And, I need the money very badly right now.

Nice pictures. Did you use a neutral density filter to avoid blowing the highlights?

Thanks Dirtee, Stopped down lens to around F/11 to get the effect, off center one I'll have to fix :)
Thanks

Excellent results Daniel.

How did you balance the flash with the backlighting where the sun is behind the subjects. I've experimented with a gray card and the "Flash Value" lock button. Did you do anything like that?

Your results confirm what I have believed for some time. The camera does matter but only up to a point. You probably could not have achieved those results with a cheap point and shoot camera no matter how skilled you are but you didn't have to have a D2X either.

I'm not saying that a D2X isn't a better camera than a D50 but with the proper know how you can achieve excellent results with a D50.

P.S. I've had amnesia for as long as I can remember.

Yes Auto, LOL, except for the seated bench shots. Thanks!

Cheers
Danny
Very good. Auto? I'm not sure I like the feet in shots #2-#3
though. Nice work as usual.

Wanting my work to stand out because of my Photography skills, NOT
because of my Computer skills.

nice, just a personal pref. I have seen a lot of your stuff and it is outstanding. For whatever reason The wedding shots while nice do not seem to have the "Daniel Diaz" feel. I do not know how you felt during this shoot. While the shots are nice, in all honesty I do not see the same level that you normally produce, maybe it's because of the color.

I think the subject matter, exposure and composition is very nice, but does anyone else feel they have an over-processed look? The shots with the bride and bride/groom in front of the water almost look like they're in front of a backdrop to me. I guess I just like more of a natural look.

I let the camera do the work for me, I actually had it set to full AUTO, LOL. The lighting was constantly changing so I threw it into AUTO, I also shot in RAW so I could tweak as necassary.
Thanks
Danny

Normally I would agree with you, but I wanted to capture the grandness of the day, I belive the sky adds to that rather than detracts, if you know what I mean.

Thanks
Danny
Would be fine for landscapes...seems distracting for wedding photos.
Is that Sigma new for you, seems fairly sharp.

No problem buddy, You have to understand the B&G may not appreciate the "real" Daniel Diaz type of shots for their wedding, LOL. The color is exactly as it was that day, I simply captured the moments :)

It's all natural, that is exactly the way it looked in person, I simply captured what I saw, IMHO I was very fortunate :)

Thanks
