dual-core processors look they they will be the next big thing for
photographers. The performance gains coming out of the new line of
dual-core processors are amazing.
I'd like to see some benchmarks of Nikon Capture as well. I noticed that at least NC 4.2.1 takes advantage of both processors on my Dual G5. It would be interesting to see a batch NEF -> TIFF conversion benchmark for Capture on the dual core system they were testing on.

Had to search long and hard for this one,

Does anyone have any benchmarks on NC4 using AMD dual core?

The important thing to consider here is whether or not your software can take advantage of dual core technology. Noise Ninja can take advantage of it (its a threaded application, in other words) - I'm not sure about the others.

The point is, you'll see performance gains over a single core PC if the software you're using has been built to be dual core aware.

They are supposed to be released shortly and blow away all existing cpu's. Before overclocking....
