Hi

I am keen to get the LiPO grip/battery for my new E20. It is well overpriced in the UK (unless someone knows otherwise?)

I heard about the B+H site in the US. but couldn't find any details on costs of shipping to UK. Can someone tell me if they offer this service and what componenets i need to make a full LiPO set to work on my E20?

Many thanks

  • don't forget customs and excise will sting you for 17 1/2 % VAT and it won't be delivered until you pay...

Shipping is $40 or $60 depending on speed. There is a country drop down box on the left in the ordering panel where you can select UK (or it might be Great Britain).

Assuming 5% duty and 17.5% VAT, you should get the whole thing for about £260. You will need a US-UK plug adapter on the end of the charger (which is voltage sensing 110-240V so will work in the UK).

I haven't ordered mine yet, but am very close to doing so, once I can convince myself that £260 is a good price for a battery!!!

Hi Duncan

I am also trying to persuade myself that £260+ is a reasonable amount to pay for the Li-Po battery grip. I had almost decided to send off my order on Saturday, but hesitated when I managed to shoot 160 pictures from 9am to 3pm with the camera on all the time, and only need to change the Ni-Mh batteries I use (1700MAh) after about 130 shots. I still think that I might persuade Santa to bring me one, if only because I think the portrait grip and shutter button will be useful. I once paid £200 for the power drive booster grip for an Eos1, so this isn't much more!

By the way, Norman cameras are also advertising it at $249 now, and they seem to have a really good reputation in the States.

Regards,

Charles

Hi Duncan,

after reading comments about the Lipo, I went here (I live in N.E. Italy) in a shop and I found that Olympus made a reduction price for it: I payed almost £ 190 equivalent to $270

also I couldn't refuse to buy a TCON-300 for almost £ 240 or $ 340. To check prices in Italian Lira : Lipo Lit.590.000- Tcon Lit.750.000-

I think I've been very luky!

Hi Nick

I look forward to hearing how long it takes for the Li-Po to arrive. What means did you select for carriage, and how much did it add to the bill?

John et al,

There is obviously a fire sale going on on these things because of the new, hhigher power replacement (the B32). I have e-mail digitaldepot and asked them to contact Oly UK and see if there are any going cheap in the UK. (Obviously nto yet - the price on the digitaldept wen site is still £524.90 + shipping - now that is too much for a battery)...

When (if?) I hear from dd i will let everyone know here.

Note: I don't know if any credit actually falls to me, but when I was looking at the E-10 a few weeks ago, I said to them I really wanted some accessories and i asked if they would cut me a deal if i bought them at the same time as the camera. They never replied ... but three weeks later, that was exactly their special offer on the web site. Who knows this time?

Did you get the TCON-300 with the bracket made for the LIPO grip?

No, I got the TCON14-B rather than the 300, so no problem with LiPo.
