can somebody tell me which electricity-plug they use in Japan ? can I use my charger with central european-standard without adapter ?

So it looks like you will need a voltage transforming adaptor, not just a plain one.

On the other hand, most hotel rooms worldwide have a 240/120 volt switchable shaver socket which accepts a wide range of international two pin plugs, without earth/ground. The socket is load limited, but can almost certainly handle a charger. Check to see by looking at its rating plate.

It should say on the charger itself what voltage it is expecting to 'get'. We call it a "rating plate" in UK.

Unless they've rewired the country (I spent 3 years there while in the Navy), the typical household service in Japan uses the same plug as the USA.

The socket sizes are identical for both prongs in Japan. Kind of like it used to be in the USA.

The new 'grounded' design in the USA calls for one blade to be larger so the plug only fits one way. The problem you run into is if the male end of whatever you are pluggin in has a large blade that won't fit into the smaller socket found in Japan.

The OP's circular "pin" type of connector will definitely not work over here (Tokyo). Get an adaptor to transition from the pin style to blade style.

Get a travel clock that does not rely on the hertz of the electrical power coming from the wall to keep time as the east side of Japan runs at 50hz which makes your non-regulated clocks lose time like mad if they are set for 60hz. Wouldn't want you to be late to your meetings!
