Has anyone done/know of any such side-by-side comparison? (except the simple one available here at dpreview)

Seems like this canon has got all the 6900 features + an amazing stabilized lense and much much more...--Ido.

Oh my God.. The Pro90 seems better than the 6900 with the long zoom lense, Stabilizer, good color balance, ISO 50, noise reduction, flip-out LCD, TTL flash mount... Oh my God...

Thanks Cassandra.
(Yep, I am a 6900 owner)

Ah but have you taken into consideration the overall image quality (i.e. colors), price and the fact that the Pro90 is only a 2.6MP camera?

Well, the Canon has a 10x zoom and an image stabilizer, but nearly everything else is in favour of the FP 6900, I would say. The Canon is a very nice camera, no doubt about that, but for the 10x zoom you have to accept a much lower resolution, a much bigger and heavier camera, and a much worse EVF (the display is quite nice, though) -- and of course it's much more expensive.

FWIW I own both the 6900 and the Olympus 2100UZ which is for all intent and purposes the same as the Canon. I use both cameras regularly. The 6900 has two major advantages IMO: more pixels and the best color that I've seen in any of the digicams out there.

Price is nowadays about the same (I already own the 6900) give or take $50 to $100... The difference between 3.3 (actually image in the fuji has got 3,100,000 pixels) and 2.6 ain't that much to make a real difference. I am not sure that the color balance in the canon isn't one of the best ones available in digicams as well...
Oh wel.. decisions...
