It has the worst interface and counter-intuitive commands. If you don't use it often you'll forget how to upload, edit, add, etc, etc. I don't think I'm renewing this subscription. Have to try something else.

You can get your own domain name and website fairly cheap. Then you can use any program, including PS to make your galleries.

And a great deal too.

Tried to get my CSS stylesheet off pBase last night... took awhile to figure out where to get it too... so, I agree with you : the interface does need some work. :)

Except for their growth issue which is a indication of just how popular there are, Pbase is great. I have looked at many many gallery software programs and have even develop a version myself. It is not trivial to develop a gallery that has the ability to allowing selective linking, images in multiple galleries, replace images, password protect galleries.

I think they should allow selective headers so that you could tag the photos with a content level.

PBase does a wonderful job of providing basic photographic display site for people who are not adept at building their own or can't afford a website of their own. I am using a couple of other sites and while PBase has its problems occasionally, it leaves everything else for dead when it comes to looking at other peoples photos.

From my point of view it provides a very cheap and reasonably reliable service. Try doing this on an Australian based site, I hope you have lots and lots of money.

I don't have a problem uploading, changing or deleting images.

Is there a tutorial on css. I have seen many unique looks at pbase and I am interested in varying the look of my pbase-generic site.

TIA, I am off to work and will check later...

I have been using PBASE for 3 months, and i found it very friendly, with
some nice features.

It's not perfect, but there isn't any perfect web service.
It all depends if it answers your needs....

While admittedly there are problems with PBase, I, for one, am sticking with them, mainly because PBase is well known amongst buyers such as publishers, graphic artists etc etc. I belong to a stock library plus another online photographic site but its the exposure that PBase has which allows me to sell my work.

My subscription also runs out in a couple months and i'm not so sure i want to continue with them. Their interface is horrible. Also, I sent them an email a week ago regarding their "rotate image" function not working and have yet to hear back. I mean, how can that feature not work? There really isn't an excuse for that. smugmug.com, here i come!

Yes, and I have also asked PBase's webmaster directly why the "Notify me when a reply is posted" switch does nothing. The setting is there but there is no function behind it last time I checked.
