This lens though recently acquired is fast becoming my most favourite lens ever. Not only have i shot these critters with it but i have used it for 4 hockey games quite successfully (sorry i don't show those as it features a family member of which i don't have permission to post them) Over the next 10-12 posts (likely a couple weeks) I'll be posting plenty of photos from the Niagara Falls Bird Kingdom, all taken with the Samyang 135mm F2.0, the first group however isn't quite birds or even things that fly :)

Good shooting!

This lens has to be one of the sharpest bargains from any manufacturer.

Looks very nice, Mike!

Do you focus via the matte screen or do you find liveview focusing better suited to the shallow DOF?

Like the pics, but if my pics I might have altered the the yellow cast a little and enhanced the clarity a little like so:

I hear you but like with anyone who wasn't there i do have to disagree, I edit for the most part to recreate reality and reality isn't always ideal. I was shooting through bad glass in a rather warm lighted environment. So for reality sake my photo is a lot more accurate. One final thing is the snake was muted yellow and brown not white and dark brown.

You've made a fine bit of art but its not a real representation of the scene, had you been there you might reconsider your edit.

Beautifully sharp, and the DoF fall off is delightful. Very nicely shot as usual Mike.

Very nice. Well done. My DA*50-135 has done me proud, but now I am rather tempted by this lens.

Thank you Mike,
I have not used a 135/2 on live view yet, but I know from other lenses that I need LV magnification to really get the focus right when using shallow depth of field. I do have an M42 135/2, which is quite nice, but I can imagine that the extra automation and information of the modern mount makes use much easier.

I sold my Spiratone 135mm F1.8 for this lens... ignore the automation, the image quality is night and day better with the Samyang!

Great series Mike, looks like a very nice len from what I've read and now seeing you're shots !

Very nice shots Mike.

Looks like you're making the best out of that lens.

Cheers

These last posts with your Samyand 135/2.0 have great rendering. I love the bokeh in all of them. It reminds me the one of Pentax SMC135/f2.5 without the green CAs I get some times. Trully impressive.

Oh, nice shooting too!! Looking forward for more samples.
