Stellar for handheld even for 1/5

It is absolutely stellar for handheld and shutter speed faster than 1/200 with VR.

It is razor sharp below 1/50. Even at 1/5 I got 10 sharpest shots from 10 - superb.

But between 1/50 and 1/200 - total blur.

Nikon India refused to replace lens N 208000 stating that it is Nikon Standard.

I don't know shall I cry or laugh.

You would think that using the rule of 1 / focal length which would be 1/300 sec for minimum handholding speed that 1/200 down to 1/50 would be the range that VR should be stellar in. Even if you went to 1 / 2x focal length, that 1/50 to 1/200 SS range should still be within that range for stellar VR.

Not a lens I'm interested in, I would probably be shooting at higher SS anyway, and I'm aware that there's been a number of threads on a VR issue ( again, no interest to me ), but it has to sucks to buy one and expect it to work at those SS and it not work at those SS.

If you're not happy with what you've, sell it and move on! So far I've tried 3 copies of 300/4PF on D4s, D4, D800E, D7200, D7100 with a few thousand shots, VR definitely is not an issue, in fact it is the only lens I would leave VR on all the time.

If a few hundred is that important you shouldn't buy the 300/4 PF in first place. ;-)
