Hi,

My loved XZ-2 has a serious problem At first glance it works well: focuses, makes and previewes photos, but it doesn't save them at all. Instead, an error message is appearing during the very slow processing (with blinking icon) finished by automatic switch off by the cam. After replaceing battery and reboot the situation is the same. Not depend on the PASM/automatic settings. Different cards and even the internal memory suffer from the same issue. But, the cam read these storages, can format them, and show the remaining number of pictures. Firmware 1.3 is runing.

Pretty strange. Must be an electronic failure?

Any idea to fix it? Is Firmware reinstallation possible? Update is not available.

Thanks

Hi! Hopefully someone can share a fix for this. My XZ-2 also has from the same problem? It happened just over the weekend. After taking a photo, card error came up. Unit automatically turned off. Upon turning the unit on, all functions are OK, it takes a photo but does not write it on the card. Even internal memory has error.

I read in the manual that this can happen if an interruption during the writing process occurs, however camera was stable and even touch screen was disabled during operation so I can say no external interruptions happened.

Running firmware 1.3. Thinking of updating firmware too.

Hi! I tinkered with my XZ-2 with the same problem and I found the solution! Camera Updater won't allow firmware update since I believe you're running the latest (v1.3, same as mine. I tried to use the camera updater but it won't allow update)

So I tried a setting reset via the Reset/C Mode Setup option and did a Full reset. After that everything's back to normal! No more memory error or card error. :) Hope this works on your cam.

Thank you very much. I had the same issue when trying to record a video. The problem existed using the memory card and the internal memory. The full reset fixed the issue.

Thanks!!!
