Donald, nice series! I especially like the one of the photogrpher with her BIG Canon L lens (100-400mm I'm guessing) -- bet she wished she had the reach of your little camera We have an annual dragon boat race here in The Woodlands (just north of Houston, Texas) on a much smaller scale but it does last for two days and all proceeds go to charity. I shot it a few years back with my DSLR so I need to try it again this year with my SX50.

As our friend Murry said, you should have compared your images with those of the Canon cannon (pun intended ). Probably the photographer will comply...

FF DSLR with decent tele prime is in a different league, IQ certainly is higher than the superzoom.
