The best MFT telephoto zoom is excellent not only for distant subjects, but for nearby subjects you can't (or shouldn't) get close to. Take neighborhood flowers which you should probably feel guilty about trapsing across private lawns to get near them. With many flowers you can stand on the sidewalk or even the middle of the street and get plenty close enough with the one of the x-300mm MFT zooms. I have the Olympus 75-300 II. Since often flower pictures don't go corner to corner, this lens is often good enough even at the extreme end, 300mm. Here are seven shots I chose to show you from the following Pbase album:
Neighborhood flowers with Olympus 75-300mm Mk II
This lady has given me permission to walk on her front lawn for close-ups
This camellia is from my own yard, so I can get as close as I want, here five feet
