Donald, you continue to capture great images and maximize this camera's potential. I like how you understand that the sharpness + 24MP of th RX1 allows you to crop significantly for posting digitally, and you take advantage of this "feature" in your work.

Great! as always. :)

Love your examples of what the RX1 can do.

Great images! A camera I will NOT buy (but not 100% sure after seeing this). Looked at 100% and then enlarging, still sharp. Wonderful colours too. Anyone seen how it compares to other FF cameras for images as these?

eilivk, seems to me it's as good as any FF , follow the link to compares on IR

If you are talking image not AF speed.

The RX1 has got my attention, and my work cameras are D800/D700

It's interesting for me because it is a camera, I carry it with me all the time (something I have not done in years). and it would be a great back up or even my only wide on some shoots.

Have been whining for a Nikon FF mirrorless ... this is now , and even the DXO spec is great .. 3rd if you count the D800 and D800e as one number.

Impressive stuff.

And Donald is showing what is possible. I never seem to go wrong following his camera buys :)

All I can tell you is its IQ is better than a lot of FF DSLRs with kit lenses, here's an example of a low light street snap @ F2 1/80s ISO2000, click "Original" for full size 100% crop shot.

Thanks both, impressed at 100 % and also used the "+" at 100%, not bad! Keep posting images. To me more important than reviews.

But of course, it's also the person behind the camera.

Donald,

Thank you for sharing your street shot.

Awesome sample at 100%.

So, I have to ask ... how did you AF.

Because I assume at f2 (with that lock on her eyes) you did not just lock the AF by distance and fire away.

I used "Center" AF with "Face Detection", and the EVF doesn't help to cross-check the focus IMHO.
