Nissin i40 for Fujifilm comes in October

The i40 flash from Nissin will be available for my X-T1 in October;)

I have read the recent news article on DPR here:

http://www.dpreview.com/news/2014/0...urce=news-list&utm_medium=text&ref=title_0_28

The article does mention the lash becoming available for Fuji at a later time.

However the Nissin spec sheet you linked to does not even mention Fuji as system for which they will make the flash unit available.

So, my questionis: what is the source of your information regarding availability.

The flash unit actually looks great to me too.

Just wondering why Fuji does not create its own Speedlite (commensurate with the quality of their lenses) with a high guide no.? I've committed to Fuji gear, but this is an irritating exclusion.

I hoped they would relase it sooner, I am waiting for a decent flash (system) for the Fuji..oktober is a long time waiting, maybe Fuji itself will come with a new range of flashes...

I think they are aware of their deficiencey regarding flashes. I have read in an interview somewhere (perhaps even on DPR) that they are working on it. No timing or specific products were mentioned as I recall.

I have been using both the EF-20 and the EF-42. The EF-42 is actually usable and can produce great results. But it's no Nikon SB-700. (let alone SB-800).

In the right margin under "Products", click on i40 which will provide more information including this statement:

For Canon , Nikon , Sony DSLR Sytem (Compatible MI Metal Hot Shoe), 4/3, Fujifilm Mirrorless System*

* Sony DSLR Sytem, 4/3, Fujifilm Mirrorless version coming soon.

Thank you. Some more detailed info there. Very useful.

So really, we should be linking the product page for this unit:

I still cannot see how the OP figured it was coming in October.

Hi Speed Sync, a real asset when using fill flash at large apertures to blur the background. I have a outdoor session tomorrow, and I am going to have to haul around Canon gear in the event I need to use fill flash.
