Z8 shutter release with adapters?

I have the megadap e to z and also a couple sigma’s mc11 e mount adapters. I was trying to stack these adapters and mount a sigma art ef or sa mount len to the z8. Was not expecting and AF etc to work much like a dumb adapter would work. When I stack these adapters the camera will fire without a lens attached. But when I attach a lens it will not fire. Anyone have an idea how to make the camera fire with this configuration?

Have you tried setting the camera to manual? I would guess that the Z8 is not happy with two aftermarket adapters that were not intended to be used together. Does the Sigma lens you are trying to use have an actual manual focus ring or is it focus by wire?

Yes camera is in manual mode. Focus peaking works shutter speed works everything acts like it is a manual lens just will not fire. Something it does not like. Was worth a try.
