Did everyone throw their's away? Or just unnecessarily shy to use it in the face of the A700, A200 and A350?

Come on! Show some of the latest A100 pics around!

--Still carry mine while on business because of it's smaller size.

Here is a very brown, drive-by shot I took Thursday in Southern Ohio of a stranded cow in the the floods.

I use it as my main camera and plan on doing it for a long while. Although the newer models are clearly superior in many ways: I still find the a100s preformance to be excellent. I'll wait at least another generation before I even consider upgrading (it just isn't worth it yet, I'd rather buy a good lense than a new body). :)

A few shots from last night. Man, I need a replacement for this kit
lens. Any recommendations?
Nice shots! I love the keyboard!

I used my A100 last February, that's 2007, not 2008. I'd use it more but my hand always seem to pickup the Canon 5D instead.

As for the kit lens, if i were to buy a new lens for the A100(won't happen, got more than I can handle now!), I'd go for the CZ 16-80.

jlc67, what part of Virginia do you live in? I'm in Portsmouth.

Great color and creativity. Was the keyboard done on a tripod? Those keys are pretty sharp for a 1-sec exposure!

Have you tried using ISO-800 for low light shots with the kit lens? It works pretty nicely with a little NR PP. You might want to pick up a 50mm f1.7. Cheap (under $100, if lucky under $50) on ebay.

Mine is in my other bag. Got the 700 with me today to try to shoot with it. I haven't had time to get any shots with it for months. So I'm still in training with the 700, and I'll get back to the 100 when I get more shots in with this one! I'm in Houston this weekend to shoot some shots at NASA. Maybe I'll run into Yakkosmurf, or Erik Pronski while I'm here. Still got mine, though! I'm not intending on getting rid of it. It's a collector's item! :-)

I'm kinda partial to video, but I'm hangin!

Mine isn't going anywhere right now. I'm on the fence about the A700, but keep deciding against it. The IQ of it is nice, but not much different IMO from the A100. Noise is much easier to deal with on the A100. Granted, I have not used the A700, but from the hundreds of posts I've read here regarding noise, I'll keep what I have and wait for another model to be released or a firmware upgrade that addresses this.

I had my A100 out at an Easter Drama last night and all in all, I am pretty happy with what I got. I used the Minolta 50mm/f1.7 lens since the lighting was pretty low, but I was quite a ways from the stage. I shot mostly at ISO800 and I was pretty surprised at the lack of noise. I am not saying the pics are noise free, but I did not think it was too bad. I am still learning all of this also. My only real complaint is the noise of the shutter release. It is pretty loud in a quite place. I really tried to wait to take a picture until the sound level in the drama was up a bit. I will post some pics when I get them processed.

Well, I picked up an "open box" A100 from CC. Unfortunately, the results of the first shoot revealed that it had a flaw/paint or glue spot/whatever on the sensor that left a blotch in the lower left-hand corner. So, off it went to Sony service in Laredo for some warranty work. It came back last week but, although I could tell the problem was fixed, the weather has been too bad for shooting since then, so the only images I can provide are from that initial shoot last month. (The first and third use the Sigma 10-22mm, the others are all with the 18-70mm kit lens. Obviously, post-processed to remove the effects of the sensor problem.)
