What ads do you see on this site? Every day mine are different. And I wonder if mine are different from everyone else's. Or even in different languages. For me today it's all about the Nikon D750. How about you? And do you ever see ads for products here that you viewed elsewhere on the 'Net?

I see nothing. Nada, zip, zilch.

But I do see the dpr fluff over on the right, and wish I didn't. :-P

So you guys found a way to block the ads?

Thanks.

As Ron said in his post, Firefox Browser and Adblock Plus equal absolutely no ads.

To see it screen-size, you will have to click on ORIGINAL SIZE, then click again in the next window !

...and I'm using Firefox and Adblock Plus !

Sounds like the OP needs to change browsers or activate the Adblock/popup blocker. And/or needs to scan for malware.

I used to use a software ad blocker. Now, my brain is my ad blocker. :-) It automatically tunes out ads.

Thank you for your replies. I am running a Win7 desktop PC. use IE7 mostly. Just out of habit. I do not think I have Firefox. I do have Chrome, but seldom use it. At some sites the "Relevant Advertising" feature can be disabled, but I did not know there is a way to block ALL ads on all sites! That would be great!

Well, WHICH browser do you use ? I guess that in Internet Explorer you can also use the "Adblock Plus" add-on, but I don't know if Chrome has this possibility !

You may check -and perhaps try- Firefox...

I'm not sure anyone answered your question. :-)

On the right side and at the top of my screen are ads for the new Nikon D750 camera and further down the page is an ad for DPR's Gearshop.

I've never tried to block DPR ads. Sometimes they get a little carried away but most of the time they aren't too bad. Every once in awhile I'll even click on them in an attempt to support this site, just a little bit.

I've been around here for quite a few years and this site/entertainment has never cost me a penny.

99% of the time the ads don't bother me and the 1% of the ads that are visually offensive are usually gone in a short while.

No place is perfect but when you consider the price, there's no place that does a better job than DPR. Everything from site management to reviews are pretty darn good.

I do not mind the ads mostly either, but I do mind being tracked all over the Internet, and that the same ads are "following" me around from site to site. That is what bugs me.

Thanks.

In Firefox, there's an option:

I do the same as you with Firefox but I don't think it's 100% effective.

When I go to a site like Amazon and look at anything from cameras to doorbells it seems that ads for those products show up on Facebook and other sites.

The Internet is great but there's nothing secure about any portion of it.

I haven't really noticed that problem here at DPR.
