this one was taken at 5:53. sunrises and sunsets happen quickly here...20 minutes from start to finish. have your camera ready of miss it.

the first one ( http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=3117275 ) didnt have enough light or i centered weighted at the wrong place or something. it ended up with too much grain. also, i never remember to try iso 200. settings for this one: 1/25 f4.5 iso 100 daylight w/b.

you pay for what you get, but you don't always get what you paid for.

Beautiful image and very well done but my naughty side is taking over today:

Given the recent splash of photo manipulation posts why don't you post this on the Minolta forum and say it's from a Dimage 7i. It would be good for a few days worth of laughs as we scan the replies ... "OOOhh such realistic colors" ... etc.
:-).

I always find it amusing how many people will spend 30 minutes watching a sunset and then leave the minute the sun slips behind the clouds/horizon ... or even before.

Three minutes later the colors begin ... especially when there are clouds on the horizon like this.

Great photo.

Checking the other post it looks like this is a sunrise and not a sunset ... although I'm not very good at getting up for sunrises I'm sure there's a similar principle :)

Actually I liked other shot better. May be a little dark but you can see gray/blue sky - not only reds. Which one looks more close to what you've seen ?

I am going to cry--I think Hw is one of the world's most beautiful places and you live there and I don't...

Want a great macro of a Houston mosquito--I almost did a cockroach...
Spent 2 weeks on Kuaii(can't even spell it...). Had to pry me off the island.

Wonderful photo and maybe even the real sky????(Digital processing joke)
