Using the TW-283 remote with Panasonic Lumix DMC G2

Has anybody used the TW-283 remote shutter release with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 camera please?

I have the TW-283 with several cables, one that "fits" the G2, but it won't work the shutter?

There is nothing in the manual that says you need to change a setting - page 181.
