can I mount my 1913 Hispana-Suiza 83mm F9.5 lens on my D3 with full functionality?
why can't I take in focus pix of my kids at 1/50 with an F5.6 setting?
Dumping my Nikon xxx for Canon xxx, don't you agree this is a great idea?
will this lens AF on my D40?

Can't you people learn to use the search function? Last rant: why do people post D3 and $1500 lens questions in the Nikon Talk forum (which clearly states at the top is dedicated to Coolpix cameras!). There, now I feel better, thanks for listening.

Oh, also use a spell checker for god's sake, I just saw "issues" spelled "ishues"!!!

I can really see how that helped this forum ...

now whenever someone does indeed search, they will find your most useful contribution.

I feel better now too :)

The time you speak (and write) more than 4 languages fluently, you can blame people of not using a spell checker.

English is not the only language in the world...

Kind regards, Pascal.

I agreed that there are alot of 'simple questions' posted here. The search feature could rectify alot of them.. but for your 'ishues' issue; I hope you stopped to think about the international cross section that posts to this forum and you might not do as well in their local language...

I don't want to name names, but the "ishues" poster is definitely American (NY)!

Kind of screams for a FAQ as a persistent top post in the forum.

My spill chucker has ishues with me just as much as I have ishues with it.

Maybe not top 10 but still golden:
  • Protective (UV) filter on lens yes/no
  • Is 17-55/2.8 or 70-200/2.8VR really that much better than my 18-55 or 18-200VR?
  • SB-600 vs SB-800
  • Why is Nikon not introducing the new D90/10/4/400/etc - if they don't introduce it NOW I'll sell my gear and switch to Canon (don't let the door hit you in the back on the way out).

That's FOR not using a spell checker. But what does speaking 4 languages have to do with someone wanting to read intelligent text? Anyway, my guess is the people he is referring to are native English speakers anyway. They just make no effort and don't care.

I thought the OP was funny though. How many pictures will my SD card hold?

You guys krack me up I am still ROTFLMAO .. I deal with many languages everyday where I live and it can be a bit much at times...

The big deal hear in Asia is to never lose face by getting angry, this just shows who you really are on the inside --I find the people who spend time in the real world, and not just as a tourist are the most forgiving and easy to get along with. They take everyday life with a grain of salt and enjoy other people regardless of their ability to comunacate in english or what ever way they can..

This is not a flame on anyone just my observation of the world outside the box that so many live in. I have spent most my adult life in other cultures and what I have said seems to ring true in all of them..

If you can picture yourself in the middle of no where and no body knows what you are saying and you don't have a clue what they are saying,it's getting dark and you have not eaten all day.
If you don't get shelter soon you are the next dinner for a large critter.

Now spell check has very little meaning..Most of the world goes to bed hungry at night.....Hope you got my drift here..Burma yesterday Cambodia tomarrow..... Jon in Thailand........

I think it would be really nice if there were some sort of sticky-thread,
where something like "D40/D40x/D60 or D80" question would stay
at the top.

This is asked with severe frequency.

The funniest thing is that some people actually think they have
some unique take on it ---

"I'm trying to decide between the D40 and D60.
I've read all the posts, but I have blue eyes.
Which one is best for my eyes?"

And then, of course, the requisite reply:
"Many people with blue eyes like to use manual-focus-only primes"

To quote Sonny Bono:
"And the beat goes on..."
