Very nice shots. That back lighting makes it a tough shoot, but you handled it well. I know how hard it is just to get a close shot of these birds. Red tailed hawks in California don't let you get close for very long. Do you use a blind or are you stalking
to get position. hawk65

Very sharp photos as well as a sharp shinned hawk, is that your name over there for what we call a "Sparrowhawk" in UK looks very similar. I have just had to go back to the H5+1758tc having dropped my newer fuji. 6 years old now & still takes great photos, just posted a few swallowtail butterfly photos from UK that I took with it last friday.
