Hi, I apologize if this has already been covered, but just want to make sure I understand the deal.

My understanding is that I could buy a 30D body from one retailer, and a lens from a different retailer, and get double rebates on both from Canon. Is that correct? If I buy three or four items, is there more than double rebate available? Do I get double rebate on all the items?

I send a copy of my receipts to Canon, and the rebates come from them--is that correct?

Thanks very much.

The rebate is through canon. It matters not where the items are purchased as long as you have proof of that purchase.

You get double rebates on everything on the form.

You can send things in at separate times, but need to perfectly match info on subsequent submissions to get the double rebates. It's easiest to send all in at once if you can.

Yes, the rebates are via Canon themselves. You need receipt/invoices, copies of the warranty cards, and the original UPCs. The rebate form itself (available online) is fairly explanatory.

Just make sure that the items you are looking at are among the items included in the rebate as only certain cameras, lens, and flashes are included

The picture on the rebate form of the codes with the circle around it was confusing. Another circle of confusion :-). Anyway, I called Canon, and the rep told me to cut out ALL the codes. I only had to submit the UPC code before.

So I did, as I didn't want to get thrown out on a technicality and taped them securely to an index card which I taped securely to the copy of my two warranties.

Another thing I ran into is that when I went to pre-register for the rebate, the online form would not take my UPC codes. So I could not pre-register. I kept copies of everything and sent them by certified mail. The Canon rep said it was probably a glitch because both of my warranty cards said USA and Canada on them.

I was really scared when I saw made in Japan on the boxes, but the rep told me all those two lenses (24-70 and 70-200 2.8) are made in Japan. So I called bh to make sure that I got the USA ones, and they assured me that I did. They have two lenses there that are the same, one with a rebate link that says USA and another with no rebate link that says imported.

To further muddy the waters, both AUG? numbers are the same.

I hope it all turns out ok for thee and me and everybody else.
