Raw file Denoise for iPad

I’m looking for what seems to be the impossible. I use Lightroom on both laptop and iPad, but I prefer editing on iPad, especially when travelling.

However, as we all know, Adobe has yet to grow up and offer Denoise on iPad despite the M chip. Why a 4-year old $800 MBA can Denoise via Lightroom and a 2025 M4 chip iPad Pro cannot is beyond reasonable.

So—I’m looking for a professional-quality iPadOS app that will denoise raw files—ideally an app that would allow me to select the subject and background separately (like Topaz and DxO). Do not recommend one with simply a denoise slider like Lightroom already has. I’m looking for something that provides the quality of Lightroom/Topaz/DxO denoise.

Thanks!

Terry

I am unaware of any. The software that I use does not have the precision you need.

I was so focused on Lightroom competitors, I didn’t think of “photoshop” competitors. I “think” that affinity photo for the iPad will give you many of the Denise options that you want in combination with masking, etc. I haven’t played with it for years and can’t remember exactly. So, I could be wrong.

have you researched this option? If not, take a look….. you just may find it useful to you.

The closest to dxo denoise on iPad is Photomator (that was recently acquired by Apple).
The quality of their AI denoise is for me the best option on iPad right now.
It is still far away from deep prime xd2 but it is far better than classic algorithmic denoise like in LR.

It's just some glass, some silicon and magnesium. It isn't a religion.

I just tried Photomator—thanks for the recommendation. Very impressive denoise, though, as you point out, it is not quite a Topaz/DxO contender as it does not have the ability to selectively denoise.

Anyone have any experience with Skylum’s Luminar Neo—specifically on iPad and the quality of the denoise feature?

Have you tried the C1 App? I'm pretty happy with how C1 manages raw conversion and don't find noise to be an issue

Pixelmator for iPad, allows adjustment layers, so you should be able to use a mask to selectively apply denoise.

I'm assuming that the denoise in Pixelmator is the same as in Photomator!

I haven't tried any of the above but if I get chance, I may give it a whirl.
