Pre-order from Nikon, experience?

I recently did an inventory of my equipment and catalogued serial numbers, purchase date and source. I've only ever bought 1 item from Nikon, that was a refurb D7200 which I still have.

Has anyone had experience pre-ordering from Nikon USA? Do they get their inventory before folks like B&H? Or After? Same? More/less.

I am thinking of pre-ordering the 105, but curious which route to take at this late date.

Nikon USA has one big difference over B&H/Adorama. If you open the box, you own the lens. It is not eligible for return.

I found out the hard way, but do love the 24-200 I know own, lol!

I would check with your local shops, if any are left in your area. Nikon fills orders equally across their resellers. The local shops usually have a shorter list than the NY big boys.

If you do not have shops local, check Midwest Photo. They have great customer service & ship just like the NY gang.

Thanks for the response. Big difference. I do have a local shop, although haven't been please with their "attitude" when I have gone in to browse. May check out mpex.com
