Hello all,

I was driving down the Florida Turnpike when the sun splashed on thiis one cloud. I violated a couple of traffic laws pulling over and finding place to take this picture :-)

is it me or is that an ominous shaped cloud? If so, that barbedwire really adds to the threat and mood.....peter

on second thought...do you have sugarcane growing around there? it looks a lot like the clouds that form when they burn the field prior to harvest.....

Hi Hugh,

Wow, great image, definitely worth breaking a few traffic laws!

With this result I hope you break more of them in the future ;-)

Regards,

Alfred

Hello Dave,

I'll deny everything except the picture :-). Thanks for the comment. Glad you like the picture.

hugh I knew you were a lawless criminal , LOL, this is a unique, excellent photo, love the barbed wire in the foreground. DL

Whoa- looks almost like a nuclear blast -- and the barb adds to the shot -- hope you did not get arrested pulling off like that --reminds me of Ansel's story where there are just seconds involved --great one hugh!

Beautiful, Hugh! I love these clouds and stop whenever I see one like this. I think we need bumperstickers that say something like: WARNING! This car stops for all cool clouds!

Hugh, it's a stunner, but get Photoshop fired up and lose the barbed wire

Hello Peter,

Thanks for the comment. Not a threat, and no sugarcane. This time of year we get lots of moisture just boiling up from the high humidity. This one just happened to be in the right place to be illuminated by the rising sun. I put the fence in the pic to have an element in the foreground. There was nothng else available. Anyway I'm glad it worked to get your attention :-).

Very nice Hugh

You caught the light at the right moment.
The color you achieve on this cloud is wonderfull as a painting.

Also I visit your web and bookmarked to see more about your work. It's nice to see part of the process in your site.
Thanks for share it.

with respect

Hi Hugh

Very impressive image and a wonderful gallery. Also, (unlike previous comment) frame is doing somthing good to the image. Loved the opportunity to pick to your gallerys and book marked them to return. I was amazed how much and how good are your images and how many of them I have never seen befor. also your site is nothing short of incredible. It is something I am considering for quite some time now and probably willl ask you about it when time will be more generouse with me

Thanks for all those beautiful things you are doing

Ruvy

Hi hugh,

Very interesting color for the cloud. Though I have to admit it does remind me of things I don't like to think about unless I have to - and sometimes you do have to think about them.

The tree and the other greens soften the view of the cloud - must have been an interesting evening(?) watching clouds :)

Regards
John

Hi Hugh,

5203. That's my favorite from this group. I like the frame on these as well as your wonderful sense of framing and composition. I admire your willingness to break the laws of man to document one of the beautiful scenes of nature as well as admiring your skills and abilities as a photographer to be able to create these images.
