Does anyone have some footage - short clips from the OM1 MK2 they can share? Preferable low light theater type clips with AF subject detect on. Even better if they are straight out of camera and not re-encoded and compressed for Youtube and the like.

Thanks for help I am trying to gauge accurate tracking, image quality and audio quality.

I sent you a PM. I have a few files that I think would fit the bill (ballet). I picked some of the shorter scenes so they will be faster to download.
#1 thank you for sharing those! I have erased them per your request. I understand the sensitivity involved. #2 the IQ (main concern) was better than I had even hoped. It looked professional and that was my main take away. #3 the internal mic did a really nice job capturing the soundstage even during the sudden, loud portions of the score. The 96kHz/24bit audio was easy to edit. #4 stabilization at that focal length looked solid and the panning was superb - no jitter. #5 Colors were excellent with minimal grading. I applied the OM lut and increased mid-tone brightness a touch but skin tones looked perfect and highlights had gentle roll of under the spot lights. #6 Tracking was natural and fluid. It never left her face and the dancers in the background did not draw the focus away.

Questions. #1 Settings, what shutter speed, aperture and ISO was this? #2 I know you said long focal length but which lenses were you using? #3 M I.S. 1 or 2? #4 record time off a single battery? #5 How do you meter for the scene with deep shadows and spot lights like that when the whole scene is in motion?

Thank you again for this help. I am planning to purchase a second body and considering the OM1.2 for upcoming work that will include some indoor video.

Do you color grade the footage, or use the profiles in camera? The OM1 will not allow shooting in 10bit with in-camera profiles. It will do HLG and Log. This is something I hope they fix as the art filters are really fun to play with.

Glad they were useful. I will try and answer your questions as best I can.

1. The ballet clips were 4k60 so shot a 1/125s shutter in S mode and let the camera adjust aperture and ISO according to light level.

2. The PL 25-50/1.7 - superb for video work in low light.

3. M-I.S. 2 which is sensor shift only. M-I.S. 1 is best for holding stationary but can get jumpy if you are panning. The IBIS in the OM1.2 is so good I rarely use M-I.S. 1.

4. I came home with 2hrs of clips (back to back performances) and 300 or so still images all on one battery. I'm sorry, I don't remember what percentage remaining.

5. ESP with a (-1EV) exposure compensation. I find this the best balance for OMLog to protect highlights without noisy shadows. Typically do not have to do any global adjustments to exposure with this as a starting point using the OM REC2020 LUT.

Good luck with your upcoming work, post back any learnings.
