Seems i have a spot on the sensor. shows up at higher magnifications so i tried test shots using two different lens 12-45, 12-100 so i could rule out lens issue. Not the lens. Tried using rocket blower, no luck. tried lightly brushing off no luck. What ever it is seems to be stuck on sensor. With the ibis is it safe to clean on my own? What kit should i order to clean it. Could this be issue not related to dust????

Suggestions needed. Of course my extend warranty just expired

no filter. egads f14, let me try this again. I didn't even notice in my panic. Lets try this again and see if different f stop makes a difference.

f4 f8 f10 nothing

f14 plan as day.

maybe this is why i never noticed. I never shoot f14. Try to keep no more than f8. In macro will go down to f10

Wet clean will take care of that.

I use a setup that's from a company that no longer makes them, but there are good options out there that other folks, I am sure, can tell you about.

It's a little nerve-wracking the first time you try it, but it's really not a big deal. Just go slowly and follow whatever video tutorials you can find that cover your camera and the cleaner you choose, and you will be fine.

In case you are sure it is on the sensor, you should try proper sensor cleaning swamb with proper cleaning liquid, some come already humid, otjhers with liquid on the side. I had those issues sometimes in the past, due to frequent lens swaps and I solved that way, always worked without issues.

you can find them online in different sizes, make sure you do not buy for full frame, will be too large... but can be smaller without issue... mine are smaller than the m43

You can probably see that spot on the sensor if you look carefully in good light.

I used an Amazon kit for $15 to clean my OM1 sensor and it worked well. Just read the instructions on how to clean the sensor (there are numerous descriptions on this forum)

Digital Camera Micro Four-Thirds 4/3 (MFT) 12mm Sensor Cleaning Swabs x 14pcs + 15ml Liquid Cleaner for Mirrorless MILC and ILDC

It really helps to have a sensor loupe to be able to see the spot (or other debris) on the sensor. This can help you focus your attention there and maybe avoid wet cleaning.

while I have used VisibleDust loupes for years, they are pricey. You may want to consider something like this Sensor loupe

Good advice from the other folk this video covers what you need and how to do it . It is straightforward just be careful and follow the instructions

It's a sensor spot, you need to clean it with wet wipes.

Nice video. The only thing I would add….there is a possible step between blowing the dust off and wet cleaning. That is using a sensor brush to see if the spec can be dislodged and, then, blown out. Using a simple brush or something like this Sensor brush which will create a static charge to help.

Wet cleaning as discussed will usually take care of the issue. However, if you see nothing at F11, I would not be overly concerned. Maybe over time, it will fall off or maybe stick harder. If you test at small apertures, and use strong auto levels type adjustments, you can be surprised at the spots you may see that never show up with normal apertures and adjustment. From my experience with quite a few digital cameras since the early days of digital, even new cameras can have spot(s) if tested under extreme setting.

I ordered a cleaning kit I also sent a email to OM tech support They suggested send in for cleaning I need to pull out paperwork as I might still be under extended warranty that includes cleaning If so I may send it in This is a backup camera that I use for primarily macro

The OM-1 has a pretty effective sensor dust removal feature, I'd try it several times before swabbing. It worked for me with a similar spot.
