Hi all,

I have a simple question that has stumped me…

i set my OM-1 to video mode, with shutter priority activated. I switch between 30/60 fps, with shutter speed of 1/60 and 1/125.

Switching between these two shutter speeds takes a huge number of scrolls on the rear dial. I don't want to spend 10-20 seconds furiously turning the dial. How can i speed this up? Is there a way?

thank you all for your assistance.

No idea as I don't use the video function at this time....

But wonder if you can set the two variants as 'Custom sets' and that would make switching quicker and even more so if you assigned each Custom Set to their own custom button.

Thank you - i will try that.

On my E-M1 III I can shoot video in S mode and use a dial to control shutter speed even while recording video. Same on my E-M5 II & III.

Isn't that available on the OM-1 ?

Yes it is, but it seems to change in very small increments, requiring a lot of dial twiddling. I just hoped there is a faster method to get from 1/60 to 1/125 without rotating the rear dial 50 times

My E-M1 III goes from 1/60 to 1/125 in 1/3 stop increments, which is 3 ticks.

If I set Custom Menu -> E1 -> EV Step to 1, then 1/60 to 1/125 is only 1 tick.

How does one get it to take 50 ticks? Does it go from 1/60 to 1/61 to 1/62 to 1/63...1/125?

Do you have "Flicker Scan" (Video menu, page 1), set to on ?

Between 1/60 and 1/125 on my OM-1 it only takes only 3 clicks of the rear dial - 1/60, 1/80, 1/100 & 1/125 ?

You are God among mortals - thank you. It was on. I turned it off, Now i have three clicks between 1/60 and 1/125 like everyone else. Cheers

The answer is that video flicker scan was turned on. Try it, it took me 16 clicks to get from 1/60 to 1/61 with it turned on. Turned off it is 3 clicks between 1/60 and 1/125 - perfect.

Thank you - i will try that.

cheers

it didn't work unfortunately, i watched Rob Treks video on the subject, the video record button always defaults to program mode when outside the dedicated video mode. I wanted to use shutter priority. Thanks for the suggestion though.
