Just took a look at the posting rules again, and noticed this prohibition for the first time:
"Bumping - Deliberately 'bumping' your message back to the top of the forum with no new content."
I've been guilty of this many a times, as have other regulars here who've bumped up Challenge threads, or sometimes their own.
I can understand the logic behind such a rule--imagine if everyone bumped every other message, then we'd be inundated by contentless posts [insert joke about repetitive 828 threads]. However, I don't think what we do for the challenges or for an occasional unanswered message violates the spirit of the rule. Perhaps Phil Askey agrees, as he has not enforced the policy against us.
Just thought I'd bring this rule to STF's attention. Will you stop bumping?
