Nik Collection 7 Not Working on M4 Mac Studio

Anyone else had this problem? I recently bought an M4 Mac Studio running Sequoia 15.5. I migrated some apps from the old Intel Mac I had including Nik Collection 7.

If I try and run any of the modules - either by opening the app directly or via LR or Photoshop I get the error message saying that the "activation process failed because of an unknown server error."

I have uninstalled Nik Collection 7, deleted all related files in the Library, downloaded a new version from the DXO website, reinstalled it but the problem persists.

I downloaded a trial version of Nik Collection 8 and that installed without problems and works - including recognising all my user presets from v7. So why on earth will Nik Collection 7 not work on a brand new M4 Mac Studio?

Is this some nefarious plan to force me to pay for an upgrade to v8?

"Migration is the cause for this issue.

Please go to:

~/Library/Application Support/DxO/Licenses (this is the hidden Library found under the “Go” drop down by pushing “Option” OR open Finder, select “Go > Go to Folder…” and copy/paste the path) and delete the nikcollection7 file.

Then launch the software and activate once again.

Hi Philip,

Same issue a few months back but the 'force Nik Collection reactivation' fix, as explained above, worked for me (also see, this post).

Good luck… :-)

Had the same issue and removing the license worked for me.
