If the photo isn't imbedded just l click on the" medium "or "large"
linkl to pic

I believe the reason it is not embedded is that you you need to
have .jpg immediately at the end of your link.

I clicked and posted before completing my thought. I am NOT familiar with smugmug which may be different from Pbase.
Someone will probably help with this that uses smugmug.

You need to copy the url for the size of photo you want to link to under the "Share a single photo?" area of your smugmug account. In this case I copied the url next to medium>

so, i really liked some other people's tries, especially the grain, which i also used on my try.

workflow:
  • shadow/higlight to balance the image
  • b&w conversion using hue/saturation method
  • level adjustment to increase contrast
  • paint with light technique for the vignette, table, face, etc
  • added gray with a grey overlay layer.
hope you like it.

adding some steps to the previous workflow:
  • sharpened the original photo a whole lot
  • copy merged of the result without the grain and motion blurred it, masked the central area, reapllied the grain
  • strenghtened the intensity of the vignete on the left side.
i think it looks better now =)

I couldn't decide, so I added some noise where I liked it and took it out where I didn't.

I basically worked on the color image first to get it where I liked it. (Hue/Sat layers, PWL, cloning, etc.) Then added a duplicate on top and set it to Hard Light. On top of that I have a Channel Mixer and Brightness/Contrast layers, then the noise layer.

Full sized PSD is available but pretty large. (I grabbed the original from PBase)

Hope you like it.
