Bought a New Olympus - OM-D E-M5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera and the

Olympus - m.Zuiko ED 14-150mm f/4.0-5.6 II Wide-Angle-to-Telephoto Lens - Black for $750 total.

This was back in Feb. of 2020.

I have been and still using Nikon DSLR D7100 and the D90.

I've been trying to like the Olympus. I like the size, video, pictures jpegs ???? not so good.

Built being weather resistant is great as I have been in rain and snow plus the beach.

What I don' t like is the menus system like changing the iso, focus points or full auto.

Touch screen is not great so mainly be able to change setting and the autofocus isn't great more close to good. Family shooting mostly. lots of dark to bright settings.

Most jpegs are washed out at the beach, and to bright in shade.

So is the OM SYSTEM OM-1 4K Video Mirrorless Camera any better in the menu

Also the auto focus close to others like the Canon Eos R6 mark ii. Which I hear is like 95% keepers in the auto focus?

I'd like to give the OM-1 a try but if the menu system is no different from the OM-D I don't want to do it. But love the build quality and size.

Those are controlled from the Super Control Panel (SCP) which offers quick access to all commonly used shooting settings. No need to dive into the menu - just press OK and there it is.

There are several color modes to choose from (e.g. Natural and Vivid) and for each of those you can fine-tune contrast, saturation, et cetera. Additionally there are settings that help you deal with high-contrast situations.

Yes, the menu system in the OM-1 was overhauled and made more like Sony's.

I'd also look at which meter pattern(s) are being used, and whether metering is paired with AF focus point.

Perhaps shoot RAW+jpeg to make sure it isn't in some custom jpeg setting (comparing jpeg and ORF versions).
