As simple as that. Do Any m4/3 cameras have manual mode with auto/iauto iso mode and exposure comp? Thanks

I checked my OM-D EM10 Mark II.

In manual mode Ihave to select the ISO manually as well.

In manual mode there is no exposure compensation but indication whether you are exposing right according to the light meter.
I can't set the aperture and shutterspeed AND do exposure compensation.

Most of the current generation of Panasonic cameras do - i.e. the GX9, G9, and GH5.

Unfortunately none of the earlier Panasonic models had this feature.

I am a little confused.

On my Olympus EM5 mark 2, I do have auto Iso (but I don't have the ability to factor in the shutter speed as other cameras do. Some cameras will take the shutter speed into consideration. I heard there is a "trick" with the flash sync speed however)

Anyway, you don't need exposure compensation in manual mode. It's manual.

This. My G80 and GX80 do have auto-ISO in M but unfortunately without exposure compensation.

You set the shutter speed and aperture for the values you want for DOF and motion blur etc.

You set the iso to auto so that you get the desired brightness in your image.

But what if the the scene is back lit ?

The exposure compensation allows you to add compensation to the ISO values set by the camera.

When you have Auto ISO engaged, the camera is Not in manual mode.

Hence, the "auto" in Auto ISO.

Olympus

Custom menu "E. Exp" -> ISO-Auto ...

"P/A/S" does not use auto-iso in M mode, ISO is manual

"All" uses auto-iso in all PASM modes

My E-M5 ii has this as did my e-pl5 [I'm pretty sure). Probably available on lots of other Olympians.

It's not manual if you are using Auto ISO, and that is why you need exposure compensation. Nikon has had this for quite some time. Neither Panasonic nor Olympus have been listening to photographers, at least until recently. The Olympus OMD EM1 Mark II has that ability.

Dear friends, I never object the idea but it is actually creating a new kind of semi-auto mode like A or S.

Yes, it gives convenience to shooter to another level to control 2 parameters rather than 1 under A or S. EC is indeed a fine tuning on ISO. TBH can't see why we can't adjust ISO directly (latest Pany bodies can control ISO by the front/back dial directly like EC operation) but insisting on auto ISO and adjust it by EC except to have a faster starting point to work on.

In principle it is no longer a manual mode.

As did (does) the original E-M1 of 2013, and other Olympus models before that too....

No, it did not allow EC in manual mode.

Also GX8.
No, the GX8 didn't allow the use of EC in M+AutoISO.
Ah... how strange... I didn't realize EC wasn't even working. Well, some people may find it to be usually a good thing in Manual mode :) I mean if I use Manual, that means I really care about the specific aperture and shutter combination I'm using.. but yeah, may be a problem in low light.
