Macro with Pentax

I was expecting for this image to place around 15th or so. Was very pleased with 3rd. I'm enjoying the 100mm Macro and the K3iii. Macro is tough for me, but I get a pretty good one from time to time. FANTASTIC. Well done indeed !!!! Very well deserved top tier shooting.

My challenge entries are 95% in the bottom range. I have a number of actual LAST placements !!!!!

That probably just means you are a unique photog with a good eye for the unusual, creative shot though. I've seen some shots in those challenges I think should be top 5, and they end up near the bottom. Makes no sense to me. I think the macro stuff is just about getting it technically correct, but as far as creativity it is limited with what you can do to stand out as really unique. Same for birds. I am never put off from entering challenges :-D . When there are 49 in front of me then I am always going to find some complete stinkers above me so I am not concerned !!!!!

Macro is tricky to be a top 5 because so many entrants are very good so well done as I said. Keep shooting and keep entering. A member called DaveNo1 or something like that shoots Pentax and has many high voted photos. You can try and catch him !!!

Not surprising to me PentUp. That's a beautiful image, subtle, and very life like.

And, at first glance, I thought, "hey, PentUp got a pre-production 55/500," but no. The Sigma did it's job.
