I'm thinking of buying a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX15. I'm most interested in the macro mode. The shortest focusing distance for this camera is 3 cm. The user manual states that this distance is available at the W zoom position. A distance of 3cm is also possible with my Lumix TZ40. This is available up to a zoom value of 2x. Then the distance is 5 cm. I would like to know how the macro mode works on the LX15. If it is possible to take photos from a distance of 3 cm also with some little zoom. Thanks.

I did a quick test and here is how min. distance increases:

- for 24mm it is 3cm

- for 25mm it is 4cm

- for 30mm it is 10cm

- for 45mm it is 20cm

- for 70mm it is 30cm

Sorry for a delayed response, I was away from the computer.

Actually LX100 is quite different:

24mm -- 3cm
28mm -- 5cm
35mm -- 10cm
40mm -- 20cm
50mm -- 30cm
60mm -- 30cm
70mm -- 30cm
75mm -- 30cm
