Upon arrival I discovered that the SD14 box is black. My 9, 10, and lens boxes are red or gold. Will my red box lenses work on my 14? Should I send it back? The corners of the box are sharp. Can I fix this? If I had known about all these problems I wouldn't have ordered it. I will post 35 20MP images of this problem later.

The solution is do do what we call "tenderizing" the product, repeatedly banging the box on a stone floor or other hard surface. This will round the corners nicely and give it the smooth look you desire.

As for the black box, the solution there is to open up the battery door of any bayer camera - behind that door is a small compartment where all of the red the camera is not capturing gets stored. Pour that onto your box and it should be a nice shiny red.

Follow Chunsum's advice! He certainly has discovered my secret solution.

Or put that mutt of yours to work. The dog has an attached spray or flood device depending on whether lever-age is required for application, if you catch my drip. I figure several applications to those red boxed and then a couple of doses from some rapterous birds followed by a month of group solar collection therapy, and they should be just right.

35 images seems a bit narrow for a Syrian test series. You gotta compare all the boxes at all f/stops and speeds. Then you gotta defraction limit the results before deconvoluting the mutt's breakfast on your flat panel. Finally, we definitely need some OS (outside) and IS (you figure it out) tests. So we are looking at about approx. 532 images at the pixelscopophian standard 100% jpig setting. Make sure you use Decker's randomizer so that we can all play mix-n-match.

Then you will have to repeat the tests without the battery in the camera, but we'll get to that later. One step at a time.

Send it back. Call Sigma and ask for "Tom". In fact, since it is their fault, call 'em collect.

Then look at the past posting record of this guy:

Sure doesn't sound familiar to me, but your tastes may vary.

Thanks for posting. Thanks spm. Sigh.

All I got was this brown box and no manual...

I'm sure. :-)

And more for the SD14 Complaint Department:
1) How long should I make the neck strap?
2) Is the neck strap hypoallergenic

3) The current neck strap is red letters with red lines on the border; can I get the same neck strap that I have on the SD10 (red letter, silver border)

4) What does PASM mean on the dial? The SD10 was MSAP...do they do the same thing?
5) The shutter is too quiet...how do I know I took a picture?

we'll have wait for Sasha's report on that one.

it's an anagram, once you figure it out, you should send the camera to Hawaii's ABC store for proper treatment. ;)
5) The shutter is too quiet...how do I know I took a picture?
You don't, it's telepathic

Hehe, laughing with the both of you.

But I thought maybe it was just Chunsum's nerves after the slithering and creeping things of the desert ;).

Looked like a good place to find them, that Scaley Backed Dune...

So nice to be reminded of Feynman. All I know seems to reflect a very nice personality that he had, and giving what he could discover with interest.

best to both,
Clive

Maximum legal leash limit is 6 feet.

Anna Gram, Dot Matrix, Phil Lite. Who are these people and what do they want from us?

That's nonsense. If you remove the CF card, place it in your computer, and see things to complain about, then you'll know.
