I like my LrC photos sorted by filename. I have that set in my Import screen and it never changes. However, about a quarter of my folders end up flipped to "Capture Time" at some point in my Development steps. When that happens I have to go back to the Library and reset the sort order for that folder. Does anybody have any idea what I might be doing to cause it to change while in the Develop module? It has happened as long as I can remember.

It is a minor thing, but I wish it wouldn't happen. I run Windows with multiple monitors, and this has happened with several versions of Windows and different hardware. At least back to Win7 and Lr5.

We are in the middle of a snow storm and I don't have much to do except whine. :-D

When I had issues with the sort order not working correctly, I reset the LrC preferences . That solved it.

Thanks, Ken,

I have done that multiple times to no avail.

i thought that sort order in LRC was global. I’ve had some sort issues also. Enjoy the snow!

No, it is local for each folder. You can set a default sort order for all your imports, though. Mine is set for File Name. You can set any folder's order in the Library module.

I know you can change the sort order to Custom in the Develop module by dragging pictures around in the film strip, but can't figure out how mine gets switched to Capture Time there. I am sure it is something in my workflow, but can't imagine what. Or maybe a shortcut key combo?

Feel free to retouch any photograph I post in these forums. They probably need it. :)
