I am trying to use the new "Edit In" feature for the LR cloud version with the Topaz apps but keep having troubles. My photos successfully export to Topaz (Photo AI, Sharpen, etc) but I always get a "No Edits Made" error (the error basically states that LR can't find the photo and/or no edits were made) window when returning to LR for it to re-import the photo. I could always manually import the photo(s), but that is basically the workflow/extra steps prior to the Edit In feature.

Anyone familiar with the parameters to get LR to recognize the edited files or what I'm doing wrong here?

Additional details:

-My LR library is on an external drive.

-I tried saving the edited image from Topaz in the LR library folder (external drive) as well as other locations on my internal drive to see if LR required the file to be in a specific location.

I’ve had a similar issue but with DxO PureRAW. Turns out my software needs a RAW file to work with, and Lightroom (non-classic) will only export .TIFF files when using Edit In. As it appears, Lightroom Desktop does not have full plug-in support.

It could be that your software can import this .TIFF file, but will save it as a different file format?

For what it’s worth, Lightroom’s official instructions are to use Edit In, save the changes made to the .TIFF file itself, and close the program you’ve opened. Lightroom will then automatically refresh the .TIFF file.

Thanks, I appreciate the insights. I don't think it's a TIFF issue as the other program can save in the TIFF format. Previously, I had not tried closing the third-party program. I crossed my fingers and tried the approach and unfortunately it still didn't work for me. Looks like I'm stuck with the manual approach. :-(
