Is it worth getting an Intuos2 4x6 tablet?

Are these things really worth it? They run about $325 or so. I ordered one and I am having second thoughts.

If you do a lot of work in Photoshop, the Wacom tablets are great.
Also very nice to use in Painter. I started with a 4x6, but went with
a much larger tablet a year or so ago. (My old tablet, a 4x6 but
the original Intuos, not the darker color Intuos 2 and pen are
available, if you want to save a couple of hundred...)

Mark I've been using a Intuos 2 6x8 for 8 months now.I wouldn't want to live without it.I can sit back in my chair with the tablet on my crossed legs and using Photoshop 7 I can do all my work with the pen instead of the mouse.

After a week or so you'll find your using the pen for everything Photoshop, internet etc..You Won't be sorry you spent the money.

Maybe I'm missing something here. Does Wacom make a 4x6? They make a 4x5, 6x8, 9x12, 12x12 and 12x18.
You can get the Intuos2 4 x 5 for abt. $200.

Once you've had graphics tablet you'll never go back.
I used to have repetive strain problems, gone.

Scroll wheel, contextual menus only a click away, and that pen! what bliss. I'd buy one over RAM they are better in the long run, ok so i like mine!

Picked up an old ADB Wacom A5 tablet on eBay for around £20 ($30) and find it's indispensable for doing any intricate work in PS Elements (cloning, dodging, burning, painting masks in adjustment layers especially). I did this stuff before with the mouse but it was very frustrating/time-consuming by comparison. Even if you bought your tablet new you'll find it's one of the best peripherals you can buy.

How about the Wacom 4x5 Graphire instead? It costs a lot (I mean A LOT) less but will give you the most important features of the intous... Anybody out there who have tried them both and absolutely couldn't recommend the Graphire? I have one at home, and think it works great. At work I have an older Intous ADB-tablet connected via an imate to my G4, and frankly, I don't find it is any better than my Graphire.

I've read a couple of articles/reviews that describe the Graphire model as a "Toy" when compared to the Intuos2 models. I can't speak from personal experience, however, since I have the Intuos2 Models (both the 4X5 and 6X6 sizes). I KNOW they're great.

One word of advice...don't shortchange yourself, in terms of quality, to save a buck unless you have no alternative. It just doesn't pay, IMHO.
